Sam’s Mission

An Overland Park native, Sam took to the local Facebook Marketplace with the idea of utilizing our city’s already-owned tools to upcycle raw materials into lively furniture pieces.

Since studying physics and pre-medicine at the University of Kansas, Sam spent his gap years working for local franchises including Domino’s and Two Men and a Truck. There, he learned the value of granite tables when his crew accidentally dropped one, costing the company $1200.

Sam began collecting granite in his free time, learning the craft from his dad and YouTube videos. His hobbies are always expanding, though he particularly enjoys upcycling live-edge wood and granite remnants sourced from Facebook Market or local small businesses to honor the resources available in and around his hometown of Kansas City.

Sam’s furniture projects have been an incredibly rewarding creative outlet while he worked as a patient care assistant at KU Hospital. He loves tackling new learning curves which allows him to incorporate a variety of techniques and materials into his custom builds.

The goal is always to make furniture that is locally sourced, uniquely crafted, and durable.
